With the last section of concrete poured, the main structure of the “American Garden” at the 15th China (Wenzhou) International Garden Expo was recently topped out.

“窗”内“窗”外，互动交流源源不断。在来华美国青年逐渐增多的同时，也有一大批中国青年通过温州肯恩大学，走向国际舞台。

Inside and beyond this “window”, interaction and exchange continue to flourish. As more young Americans come to China, a growing number of Chinese students are also stepping onto the international stage through Wenzhou-Kean University.

2024年初，温州肯恩大学响应“5年邀请5万名美国青少年来华交流学习”倡议，启动了“温肯计划”，即5年吸引千名美国青少年来华交流学习。在计划启动后近两年时间里，340余名美国青少年跨洋而来。

In early 2024, in response to the initiative to “invite 50,000 young Americans to China on exchange and study programs over five years,” WKU launched the “WKU Thousand-Student Program,” which aims to attract 1,000 American youths within five years. In the two years since its launch, the program has embraced more than 340 young Americans across the Pacific.

2025年8月，美国纽约联合国会议厅里，备受瞩目的联合国青年大会汇聚了全球80多个国家的政府与企业代表，其中也包括6名温州肯恩大学学生。在这场国际盛会上，大二学生傅冬予抛出低龄儿童数字健康的议题，引发全场共鸣。另一名学生肖文菁，与Green City　Force（绿城力量）公司执行董事托尼亚·盖尔探讨未来职业规划，也赢得了大家的赞誉。温州肯恩大学学子积极发声，成为会上跨文化交流的亮点。

In August 2025, the highly anticipated AFS Youth Assembly was held at the UN Headquarters in New York, bringing together government and business representatives from over 80 countries. Six WKU students participated in the event. During the discussions, sophomore Fu Dongyu raised the issue of digital health for young children, which drew broad resonance. Another student, Xiao Wenjing, discussed future career planning with Tonia Gayle, Executive Director of Green City Force, earning wide recognition from attendees. By speaking up and sharing their perspectives, WKU students became a highlight of cross-cultural exchange at the assembly.

世界青年科学家峰会、中美青年创新大赛……透过温州肯恩大学这扇“窗”，各方资源交融、连接，拓宽了师生的国际视野和人生道路。近年来，温州肯恩大学创造了“两个70%”：本科学生中70%以上选择深造，其中有70%的学生进入世界前100强名校。

From the World Young Scientist Summit to the China–U.S. Young Maker Competition, Wenzhou-Kean University has served as a “window” through which diverse resources converge and connect. These platforms have expanded the international horizons of both students and faculty and opened up broader life and career pathways. In recent years, WKU has achieved what it calls the “two 70 percent”: over 70 percent of its undergraduate students have chosen to pursue further studies, and among them, 70 percent have been admitted to the world’s top 100 universities.

The energy gathered through this “window”—from both Chinese and international youths—also resonates with local development.

以“窗”为媒，今天的温州肯恩大学已深度融入温州城市工作。学校主动参与大孵化器集群建设，构建国际化校地融合体系，推动肯恩国际科创社区建设，与超300家企业建立合作，40%高层次国际人才带领学生为百余家企业提供技术服务。创办外籍人员子女学校、国际幼儿园，参与泰顺、瑞安等地“共同富裕示范区”建设。2025年，温州肯恩大学、美国肯恩大学与温州市海上花园建设指挥部联合推出的洞头国际在地建造设计节上，40余名中美师生耗时8天，将海洋废弃物转化为4组色彩斑斓的户外艺术装置，以创意实践展现生态与可持续发展理念。

Using the “window” as a bridge, Wenzhou-Kean University has become deeply integrated into the development of Wenzhou. The university actively engages in the construction of large-scale incubator clusters, builds an international model of university-community collaboration, and promotes the development of the Kean International Science and Innovation Community. WKU has established partnerships with more than 300 enterprises, and nearly 40 percent of its high-level international faculty lead student teams in providing technical services for more than 100 companies. The university has also established schools and international kindergartens for the children of foreign personnel, and participated in “Common Prosperity Demonstration Zone” initiatives in areas such as Taishun and Rui’an. In 2025, at the Dongtou International Design–Build Festival jointly launched by Wenzhou-Kean University, Kean University, and the Wenzhou Maritime Garden Construction Command, more than 40 Chinese and American faculty members and students spent eight days transforming marine waste into four vibrant outdoor art installations. Through hands-on creative practice, the project has promoted ecological awareness and sustainable development.

In May 2021, the bilingual video series Find My Wenzhou with Wenzhou-Kean University, produced by WKU faculty and students, won first and third prizes at the 2020 “Tell China’s Stories” Contest.

In 2022, WKU students presented a model of Taishun’s lounge bridge to Kean University President Lamont Repollet, promoting its global outreach.

◆2024年6月，设校10周年之际，国家主席习近平复信美国肯恩大学校长拉蒙·雷波列特，肯定“温州肯恩大学办学成果显著，已经成为中美教育合作的标志性项目”。

In June 2024, on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Wenzhou-Kean University, President Xi Jinping sent a reply letter to Kean University President Lamont Repollet, recognizing WKU’s remarkable achievements and its role as a flagship project in China–U.S. educational cooperation.

◆2024年12月，温州肯恩大学的当代建筑项目在2024年度“法国凡尔赛建筑奖”中获“全球最美校园”奖项。

In December 2024, WKU’s contemporary architecture project received the “World’s Most Beautiful Campus” award at the Prix Versailles.

◆2025年10月，温州肯恩大学中美人文与经济研究院获批浙江省首批省级区域国别研究重点培育单位，打造跨学科跨国界的学术研究与中美交流智库平台。

In October 2025, Wenzhou-Kean University Institute for China–U.S. Cultural and Economic Studies was approved as one of Zhejiang Province’s first provincial-level key cultivation platforms for area studies, creating a cross-disciplinary, cross-border think tank for academic research and China–U.S. exchange.
